Toyota Defensive Driving for Teens

Westboro Toyota would like to inform you of Toyota's New Free Teen Defensive Driving Program. This is a program designed to teach young drivers, and parents as well, the importance of safe and responsible driving.

Safe driving is a priority for Toyota, and to our dealership as well. As a major automotive company in America, Toyota is committed to helping the community and playing a significant role in reducing the rate of fatalities and accidents among young drivers. Toyota Driving Expectationsis a program from Toyota designed to empower and educate teens and parents about driving and road safety through a unique combination of interactive hands on sessions and simulated defensive driving exercises. This is a complimentary course provided by Toyota since 2004.

Driving is inherently risky, but for teens the risk of being in a car crash during the first year of driving is higher than any other point in their lives.

The National Safety Council reports that one in five 16-year-old drivers experience a collision in their first year of driving, and that traffic crashes are the leading cause of teen fatalities accounting for 38% of all teen deaths in the United States.

To sign up please go to www.ToyotaDrivingExpectations.com or stop by Westboro Toyota! For more information call 508.366.1741.

Synthetic Oil for Toyota & Scion

Toyota and Scion 2010 model year vehicles are transitioning to a synthetic lubrication standard (SAE 0W-20). This transition keeps Toyota ahead of the latest emission requirements for auto manufacturers.

In addition to meeting emissions requirements, the shift to synthetic oils provides a number of benefits for Toyota drivers, including:
  • Improved fuel economy
  • Less frequent oil changes
  • Greater engine protection
  • Maximized emission performance on cold start-ups
  • More environmentally-friendly recycling of waste oil
What you need to know:
  • For new Toyota and Scion purchases, use 0W-20 oil for all oil changes
  • With the new 0W-20 oil you only need to change your oil every 10,000 miles or 12 months, depending on operating conditions
  • Your “Maintenance Required” light will still come on every 5,000 miles to remind you of other recommended maintenance
  • It is still important to routinely check your vehicle's oil level and regularly replace both the engine oil and the oil filter
For more information about the new 0W-20 oil or to have your vehicle serviced, contact Westboro Toyota at 888-274-6561.
