Lessen the Pain at the Pump with a 2012 Top 10 EPA-Rated Fuel Sipping Toyota Prius

Gas prices in Massachusetts dropped a whole two cents this week. This is the first time prices have dipped in 2012, according to AAA Southern New England. A March 12 AAA survey revealed that self-serve, regular unleaded gas will cost you $3.719 a gallon, on average. Westboro Toyota doesn’t know about you, but we think this “drop” still represents a major "ouch" pain at the pump!

But, it does no good to let that pain at the pump get you down. It’s better to focus on what you can do to reduce your automotive fuel bills.

Toyota is the most fuel-efficient, full-line auto maker in the United States, and Toyota has been working hard to strengthen its portfolio of fuel-efficient vehicles. With several new models on the lot here at Westboro Toyota offering an average combined fuel economy of 44 mpg, we’re sure you’ll find a pump-pain elixer that’s right for you. For instance several Toyota’s Prius models made Fueleconomy.gov's Top Ten EPA-Rated Fuel Sippers for 2012:

Prius v (an EPA midsize station wagon class leader with 42 mpg combined);

Prius plug-in (EPA rated 50 mpg combined and 95 MPGe), featuring extended electric range; and

• Prius c (EPA rated 50 mpg combined and the leader in the EPA’s compact class), which is coming soon to Westboro Toyota;

Keep in mind, too, that Intellichoice named the Prius the Best Overall Value for 2012 in the passenger car category.

These vehicles offer leading-edge drivetrain and engineering technologies, which help them get great gas mileage. Hybrid Synergy Drive, extended electric vehicle range, a generous use of lightweight high-strength steel, a focus on aerodynamics and the use of efficient Continuously Variable Transmissions help, too.

Now is a great time to buy a new Prius from Westboro Toyota. The federal government is offering tax credits up to $7,500 on the purchase of a new plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle (PHEV), with the amount of the credit based on the battery capacity used to fuel the car.

To date, the Toyota Prius is the best-selling fuel-efficient vehicle sold in the world. Join the more than 3.5 million Prius owners who have discovered a pain-at-the-pump pill that make rising gas prices a little easier to swallow!
