Best Full Size Car: 2014 Toyota Avalon, Best Resale Value Awards

Last year, a totally refreshed Toyota Avalon suddenly took the full – size Sedan market. The starting price, $31,000, was $3000 lower than the model’s it replaced. It looked like a sporty coupe and drove like a luxury sedan. Its spacious leather-trimmed interior, earned a standing ovation from automotive journalists throughout the land.

It dispatched both fuel economy and horsepower that confound its competition. No doubt, the reduced Avalon’s resale value was unbeatable by any other full - size sedan in the US. From the previous anonymity, the 2013 Toyota Avalon was crowned a winner with a Best Resale Value Award in the Full – Size car category.

As the world’s largest auto maker, the company seemingly forgot about engaging cars that related to drivers on both, emotional and visual level. A newly redesigned Camry sent the first signal that Toyota was serious about making interesting cars again.

The Avalon remains front-wheel drive, but in general it’s slightly shorter and wider than the previous model. Although the new Avalon’s smaller dimensions, interior room is actually higher thanks to a greater range of seat arrangements and more efficient sunroof packaging. Seats are heated and ventilated, there is flexible cruise control and navigation, the trunk is larger... outstanding interior quality.

Toyota is positioning the 2013 Avalon as an American sedan, designed and built in the United States and suiting the American taste.

2014 is once more the year for the Toyota Avalon, with the Best Resale Value Award going again to the big Toyota. This repeat performance is all the more impressive considering that two brilliant all – new 2014 vehicles, the Kia Cadenza and Chevrolet Impala, both extraordinary cars,  were deep in the exploration for King of the Hill status in resale value.

The 2014 Avalon’s value pricing, acceptable standard features, outrageously good quality, never-gets-old-styling, and the choice of a 268- horsepower V6 and hybrid fuel economy carried the day.

This year, the 2014 Toyota Avalon is the King of the Hill in resale value.
